Single Girder Gantry Crane Design

The single girder gantry crane is also called electric single beam gantry crane, or electric hoist gantry crane. It is a portal crane mechanism that performs the work of lifting the load and moving along rails installed on concrete foundations in the workshops or outdoors.

Usually, it equips with CD MD electric wire rope hoist as lifting mechanism, sometimes equips with electric chain hoist, according the working conditions. The electric hoist hangs under the main beam and travels along with it. The main girder of single girder gantry crane is supported by one or two legs which are connected with end beams, so the whole gantry crane system can travel along the steel track rails by the motorized end carriages.

For top-end customers, European type single girder gantry crane is suggested, which is used together with European type electric hoist. Lifting, cross & long traveling are all of variable speed by Schneider VFD, assuring the precision of the crane movement. It is of Europe style design with top configurations, such as German Abm brand lifting geared motors, German KPM brand traveling geared motors (SEW also optional), Schneider brand VFD, Schneider brand electricals, Taiwan Telecrane brand remote control, etc.

Structure of the single girder workshop gantry crane looks like a door frame, which has a main girder above ground. With legs and travelling carriage on the ground, the whole equipment can achieve motion in both directions. With hoist unit, single girder gantry crane can achieve loading and unloading of the cargo. It can also be designed with cantilever arm outside span, according to client's lifting requirements and application environment, as an option for bigger working area.

Our single beam gantry crane is fabricated with sturdy structure, mainly composed of main beam, end beam, supporting legs, end carriages, hoist trolley and electric control system.

Gantry Frame

For metal structure of the gantry crane, various frame designs are available such as A type, U type and L type so as to handle different materials. We keep optimizing the equipment structure to provide stable and durable performance. Main beam and ground end beam will have sandblast derusting and painted with zinc rich epoxy primer. They are cut by plasma numerical control cutting machine. The butt weld of tension flange shall undergo ultrasonic or x-ray flaw detection as specified. During machining process, we closely inspect every part to ensure quality products. 

Electric Hoist Trolley

Hoist trolley is the most fundamental part of gantry crane equipment. We have CD1, MD1 type wire rope hoist, electric winch, chain hoist for your choice, of which the electric wire rope hoist is the most commonly used type as it can lift with a variety of capacities. However, chain hoist is a more cost-efficient solution for small lifting needs, widely used in workstation, factories, mines, harbours, warehouse and workshop. We have manual and electric chain hoists for you to choose.

Crane Running Mechanism

For crane running mechanism, we provide both track and trackless operations to fit different applications and environments. Gantry crane, especially for outdoor uses, is equipped with many protection devices such as overload limiter, wind proof device, anti-collision device and rain cover in order to protect the electrical devices and other components of the crane.
